The People's Report: May 2026
Workers of the world, unite! The only thing you have to lose is your chains.
Hello, Comrades!
May is upon us and this month we begin with a day of solidarity and remembrance for workers around the world. The US separated their Labor Day from International Worker’s Day because they wanted to ensure there was distance between their hollow appreciation for the working class and the fight spirit of revolution that comes with IWD. They would rather people drink and grill than take to let them know there are more of us than there are of them. We will not forget and we should be doing everything we can to let people know what this Friday means and what is possible for our future.
Shout out to the Housing Working Group for their letter campaign getting 286 signatures in a couple weeks. If you haven’t yet, please visit Stand Up for Historic Yamacraw and write your district’s alderperson and the mayor. If you don’t live in Savannah, I suggest doing like I did and choose the District 2 option.
Please remember, you don’t have to have all the time in the world or be an expert on socialism or organizing. We just need you to be present. Please find that balance between doing the work and self-care. Take a breather if you need it, but we can’t do this without you.
Adelante,
Jorge Robles

The following resolution(s) will be presented to the membership at the May General Membership Meeting:
We want to see what our comrades and community are making. If you’re creating art, photography, poetry, design, zines, or anything else that speaks to the fight -- send it our way. We’ll feature member and community work in future issues of The People’s Report. Submit to Communications & Design Committee at communications.design@savgadsa.org with “Art Submission” in the subject line.
